HDT Physics are disabled when pause menus are open, so "pausing" the game with SkyrimSouls installed will show you what performance you should be getting.
Mods with hdt physics extension install#
To test if this is affecting you, you can install the mod SkyrimSouls (which makes the game not pause when you open menus that would normally pause the game) and see if your framerate increases (framerate must already be below 60 FPS for it to increase, of course). Pick or create a preset, then click 'Build'. Open BodySlide, select 'CBBE Body HDT' as the Outfit/Body. Install HDT PE + whatever else you want related to that. I love HDT physics, but it's not with decreasing my framerate by as much as 3x, so I'm unfortunately not going to be using it anymore. The HDT physics for Special Edition require going to Hydrogen's posts on a chinese web forum for the physics, framework, and high heels and I'm not sure if it's ok to post the links to there here so look up ' Skyrim Special Edition HDT 1.5. dll included in this mod, you have to download it manually, it is avalible on Nexus. Any 'guide' that tells you to use XPMS is wrong and should be ignored. This was making my game nearly unplayable, even with a GTX 1080, but disabling HDT Physics Extensions made my framerate shoot straight up to 60 FPS. Sorry if this is obvious to some people, but having HDT Physics Extensions installed appears to completely destroy performance, even if no HDT mods are installed.
